Edison Jr. High 7th grade students got a little glimpse into the lives of the characters they've been reading about.

 

Students in Mrs. Alexander and Mr. Versluis' Language Arts class have been learning about The Lost Children of Sudan and reading a novel called, "A Long Walk to Water" by Linda Sue Park.

 

For an enrichment activity, the teachers had the students compete in a relay race carrying jugs of water.

 

"The purpose of the activity was to help the students build empathy for the characters in our story. We all had a great time," said Mrs. Alexander.
