Illinois State Representative Mike Halpin and Mr. Nick Camlin came to Edison Jr. High to speak to the Lights On For Learning Programs Leadership Squad. 

 

The Squad is a partnership with the University of Illinois Extension exposing students to civic engagement in their school and community. 

 

The men spoke about how they got to the positions that they now hold and how a student can get involved in local politics and have their voices heard. 

 

Rep. Halpin is running for Illinois State Senate and Mr. Camlin is the South Rock Island Township Clerk and also the City Assistant Clerk. He is also a Rocky grad.
