Gary & Helen

Rock Island-Milan School District 41 is excited to celebrate the team members who received field trip grants from the Gary and Helen Miner Fund!

The Gary and Helen Miner Fund is a permanent endowment established through the generosity of Gary and Helen Miner and dedicated to supporting scholars in Rock Island-Milan School District 41. The Fund provides financial assistance for field trips, activities, and projects that enrich learning experiences for elementary and Thurgood Marshall Learning Center scholars and may not otherwise be funded.

This year, the Selection Advisory Committee carefully reviewed all submitted applications. While $12,000 was initially available to support field trips, the generosity of the Miner family, the Kiwanis Club, and additional personal funding from Mr. and Mrs. Miner made it possible to provide more than $24,000 in funding this year.

The Miners generously approved funding for all submitted requests, allowing even more scholars to benefit from meaningful, hands-on educational experiences.

The awarded proposals reflect the mission of the Gary and Helen Miner Fund by providing experiences that enhance classroom learning, connect scholars to new opportunities, and inspire curiosity beyond the classroom.

We are proud to recognize the following team members and their scholars for their creative and engaging field trip proposals:
